
About Jack Andrews
April 14, 1927 – April 1, 2013
Jack graduated from Broughton High School and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After his discharge, he earned a degree in mechanical engineering from NC State in 1950. He continued his military service in the Air Force Reserve, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1987.​Jack spent many years in engineering with N.C. Products, contributing to projects like the Beaufort drawbridge and the NC State tunnel.​A founding member and past president of the North Raleigh Rotary Club, Jack was honored with the Lifetime Rotary Dedication Award in 2008 and was a Paul Harris Fellow. Rotary was central to his life, and he lived by the Four-Way Test principles of truth, fairness, goodwill, and benefit to all.​A devoted member of the Raleigh Golf Association, Jack’s love for the game led him to start the annual North Raleigh Rotary Golf Tournament, which continues in his honor.​He is survived by his daughters, Jackie Gooch of Wilmington, and Janet Johnson of Cary.
